Research Report

How is the research process going?
The research process is going well. I have found a number of sources which will help my project's credibility.

Have you found a wide variety of sources? I have found a wide variety of sources from articles to magazines and documentaries.

Source 1:
Title, author and host of source:
Sorry Soccer, Grant Wahl, Sports Illustrated

The Source's author(s):
I read that Grant Wahl has been covering global and domestic soccer since 1996, he then was promoted from senior writer in 2000
In addition Grant Wahl has covered eight world cups and four olympics and has won respect for his story "Where's Daddy?" in 1998

The Target Audience for the source:
It is evident that audience is for readers who are interested in sports as the article was found on sports illustrated.

Specifically, the audience is for those who are interested in soccer and the upcoming world, as the article discusses about the FIFA World Cup and the recent events of corruption taken place.

The Source's main purpose or message:
The source's main message is to readers that FIFA has been and still is not a clean organization. This should change and how nobody within FIFA is taking enough action.

This can be seen with "They should take the moral high ground and abstain instead of voting for the incumbent, Sepp Blatter" and "The reason is simple: FIFA does not have a reputation as a clean organization, and neither candidate supports that change that is needed." and "but U.S. Soccer and others can still make a statement by abstaining from the entire sorry mess."

Any important contextual details:
By frequently mention U.S. Soccer Federation/U.S. Soccer it is apparent that this is coming from the context of an American writer based in America.
Additionally, it is apparent that since this article was from 2011, the recent world cup bid wins were recently announced and the early stages of the FIFA scandal began.

Source 2:
Title, author and host of source:
Report: Qatar abuses migrant workers in 2022 World Cup prep, SI Wire, Sports Illustrated

The Source's author(s): I could not find anything about the author "SI Wire" as this is not a specific person. It is likely that this article was written by more than one writer.

The Target Audience for the source:
It is apparent that the audience of this source is for sports fans as this is a article from the Spots Illustrated. Sports Illustrated is a sports magazine which covers all sports worldwide.

The Source's main purpose or message:
Any important contextual details:

Source 3:
Title, author and host of source:
FIFA Scandal: Qatar 'Will be stripped of 2022 World Cup', says whistleblower, Alix Culbertson, Express

The Source's author(s):
After looking through Alix Culbertson it is apparent that she has recently started working in journalism. None the less she has a lot of experience working for different news organizations, internships.
Additionally, she has studied journalism and has received a diploma in journalism.

The Target Audience for the source:
The audience for this article would most likely be for readers interested in reading articles related world news or soccer. This can be seen with the article being in the world news category.

Additionally, the intended audience is probably mostly for readers from the United Kingdom as this article is written in English and is a local U.K. news source.

The Source's main purpose or message:
The source's main purpose/message is to inform readers about the possibility and reasons as to why Qatar can be stripped from hosting the World Cup in 2022. This is explained by interviewing Phaedra Almajid, a former member of the Qatar World Cup bid team.

Any important contextual details:
This article tells readers about how there is a great possibility that Qatar might no longer host the world cup after recent events.

In addition, the article focuses on the view of a member who has knowledge about Qatar's wrongdoings which she has exposed. As she is a eye witness source this suggests that the article is reliable.
